GU-tiful

Ciao from Italia!

Wow so finally able to get some wifi to update my blog. The trip over was not as smooth as I had hoped, but the most important thing is is that I made it over in one piece. Unfortunately the airport did lose my luggage so I had to wait about a day for that. I think lost luggage is a pretty normal thing for the Florence airport, they lost a good number of other student's luggage as well. Most everyone has received their luggage by now with the exception of a few students.

My pensione (kind of like a dorm) is great. The accommodations are wonderful as well as the staff. I am sharing a triple room with two other girls (Madie and Bridget) and our room is very nice. I will provide pictures soon. Our bathroom is surprisingly nice and the pensione has provided us with a bidet (be-day aka butt washer). Haha all of the girls are too scared to try it out.

The pensione staff is amazing and so welcoming. While they do speak with a very heavy Italian accent and speak too quickly to understand sometimes, they are always there to answer our questions. Everyday we are given breakfast, while lunch and dinner are served only during certain days throughout the week at the pensione. Italian food is nothing but the best here. Meals are served in multiple courses. Starting with a  salad or appetizer, followed by a pasta dish, then the main course, and finally dessert. So far we have had pesto bow tie pasta, amazing lasgna, bruschetta, caprese salad, and some more! So good.

The jet lag isn't so bad this time around. I have found myself in desperate need for a nap in the middle of the day, but otherwise I am sleeping like a rock at night.

We leave for Rome on Thursday and will be coming back Sunday. I will be uploading pictures very soon and I hope to facetime some people as well! Feel free to shoot me an email with any questions and keep following me on this blog. I will talk to you guys soon!

Ciao!
